Outdoor Furniture & Space Planning
After purchasing a new home, these clients wanted their front porch and backyard deck to feel like a natural extension of their interiors while creating a functional outdoor environment for family life and entertaining. The existing deck presented a challenging layout, making professional outdoor space planning essential to achieve the amount of seating they wanted while maintaining comfortable traffic flow. In partnership with Werbrich Custom Outdoor Living, I helped space plan the bar and entertaining areas, coordinate material and finish selections, and curate luxury outdoor furniture that complemented the home’s architecture and interior color palette. For a distinctive look, we selected high-quality Azura Living outdoor furniture, along with unique performance fabrics and pillows from Elaine Smith, creating a personalized design that could withstand everyday life with a young child and two dogs.
From the front porch to the backyard entertaining areas, every detail was thoughtfully considered for function, durability, comfort, and style. Custom motorized outdoor shades by Custom Creations were incorporated into the covered living area, allowing the homeowners to raise and lower the screens by remote control. The shades provide added protection from insects while entertaining, watching TV, or gathering around the fireplace in the evening, extending the comfort and usability of the outdoor room. I also provided outdoor furniture planning and selections, performance fabrics, accessories, and exterior paint and stain selections, while Werbrich Custom Outdoor Living completed additional exterior improvements. The finished project demonstrates the value of working with a Cincinnati interior designer specializing in luxury outdoor living, outdoor furniture space planning, material selections, performance fabrics, furniture procurement, and indoor-outdoor design to create a cohesive, fully furnished outdoor space designed for family life and entertaining for years to come.
